Known as "The Russian Tigress," Olga Vladimirovna Baklanova ( August 19, 1986-September 6, 1974) is best known for her portrayal as the beautiful trapeze artist, 'Cleopatra', in Tod Browning's notorious Freaks. But more so than her beauty, it's the film's ending sequence featuring the actress as the "Chickenlady," that fans remember most. Her image has become as recognizable and as the film itself. She remains one of the most fascinating creations in early horror history.
